Coaching for Excellence
Coaching helps unlock the potential of talented individuals whose leadership and decision making is key to business growth. It can be a game changer for an individual whether they are a high performer seeking to go to the next level, or someone who needs support in their role.
I am passionate about working with individuals, assisting them to identify their strengths and blind spots, and coaching them through changes required for them to perform at the next level.
For a coaching relationship to succeed, there needs to be good rapport between coach and coachee. The coaching relationship starts with a cup of coffee to check “fit” between coach and to clarify outcomes and expectations.
Experience
I am fully proficient in the GROW coaching model, one of the most established and successful coaching models created by Sir John Whitmore and colleagues in the 1980s.
I have coached individuals from Environment Canterbury, Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, the Canterbury District Health Board and the Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce.
I also coach members of my community and in my not for profit roles.
I can relate to the experience of being coached as I have had the benefit of having had an executive coach for the past 3 years. Understanding both sides of the coaching relationship enriches what I bring to the coaching partnership.
Coaching Scenarios
Some of the many scenarios that I have worked through with coachees include:
- Critical / Crucial Conversations
- Stakeholder Management
- Staff Development
- Communication Styles
- Governance Challenges
- Personality Clashes
- Identifying Development Opportunities
